We all love the Golden Age of Hollywood. The glamour of the era is a constant source of inspiration. Many of our own dresses are named after screen icons going back as far as the silent era. In particular, the 2020 Occasionwear Collection is almost all named after Hollywood icons.
Famous wedding dresses in the collection range from Sophia after Sophia Loren, Ava after Ava Gardner and Mae, named after the inimitable Mae West. These actresses embody the sass and the confidence that is a part of every Mooshki design.

One of our most famous Icons is Audrey Hepburn. She is the ultimate Mooshki and has influenced almost every wedding dress in our collection in some way or another. Her elegance and grace on screen coupled with the Givenchy wardrobe in which she spent a lot of screen time is timeless. Tiffany is so called after the chic black pencil dress Hepburn wore in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s.” We named our Audrey dress after Hepburn too. WE even have a dress called Hepburn in our occasionwear collection! Can you tell we adore her?

When we name a collection, there are certain names that resonate more with a particular label. Grace Philips wedding dresses are given names that evoke an air of glamour and class. Portia is a Shakespearean name, Marianna is actually named after a previous bride. Phil made sure that the “Dynasty”cast were name checked too; Alexis, Crystal, Dominique, Sable and Caressa are all from the outrageous ‘80s soap opera!

We would love some suggestions for names for our next collection. Team Mooshki usually sits over a coffee and make a list of them and each dress has its own personality which makes the job easier but also so much harder every season!
