When brides go for their first wedding dress appointment, they usually have a style in mind. Whether that’s a short tea length or a ballgown or a fishtail, they always have a look they want to achieve. Then, when they have tried on that style, so often they are underwhelmed! This is normal and is part of the process; you can’t get to your dream dress without trying on a couple of not-so-perfect dresses along the way.
When Lynette first contacted us to come and try some wedding dresses on, her initial thoughts were Constance, Cherry and Maggie. Beautiful dresses, elegant and very bridal. However they didn’t cut it. They were nice, no question about it. But you don’t want your dress to be just “nice” do you? OK isn’t an option for the biggest day of your life. You don’t want to look in the mirror and think “that’ll do.”
Lynette tried Betsy on. It really worked. As designers, the look a bride gets in her eyes when she knows she looks good is priceless. Then the option of a blue wedding dress was mentioned. Total game changer!
Betsy is an elegant full lace ballerina length wedding dress with a bardot neckline, illusion sleeves and a cute little bow to the collar. Originally created in blush (we could make every dress in blush), Betsy has a very vintage style and is one of those dresses you can imagine finding in your attic having been worn by your grandmother.
Lynette looked stunning in her bespoke dress for her wedding back in December. She found shoes to match the colour of her dress perfectly. Shannon and Nana Mooshki made her a pillbox hat to add even more vintage inspiration for the whole bridal look and judging by the pics Lynette sent us, she had a wonderful time.
