We were delighted to finally shoot a plus size collection of our wedding dresses. Over the past decade, we have made dresses for thousands of brides and many of those brides were plus size. We’ve sat and listened to them as they’ve told us how badly treated they were by many shops who only catered to standard sizing. In fact, some of the hurtful things said to these lovely brides doesn’t bear thinking about really:
“You’re too fat for a wedding dress really.”
“The big girl dresses are on that rail over there.”
“You’ll look lovely when you’ve lost that couple of stone.”
There’s no reason why your measurements should define the wedding dress you wear. Of course there are changes that can be made to create your perfect dress. Some brides have a higher waist than others – this is not a plus size problem. Some brides have bigger arms – again, not a plus size problem.
“I honestly cannot thank you and all the Mooshki team for taking care of me. I loved my dress so much.”
The range of dresses we have made in sizes 18-30 were tried and tested styles that we knew were going to work on a curvy figure. Our bodices have at least 24 bones hidden away so you won’t have to wear a bra which is a godsend too. We want all our brides to feel amazing in their Mooshki dress.
We can’t wait to share all the dresses with you over the coming weeks. We will be adding more to the collection over the course of each coming season too. Rest assured that every Mooshki collection dress we design will be created with a real shape in mind. Fashion in general favours a slim line, no bust, no hips and Amazonian height. We’ve never designed this way and we never will.
