As we all sit on the 77th week of lockdown, there are many brides who will be thinking about their dress and what style to choose. It’s a daunting prospect but doesn’t have to be. At Mooshki and Grace Philips, we try and make it as fun as possible!
First of all, we have every silhouette you could ever wish to see. For all we are the world leaders in the design of short tea length wedding dresses, we offer every dress in ballerina length, high low, ballgown with and without a train, fishtail and pencil. There are thousands of variations of wedding dress that we can offer you.
At your first appointment we will discuss your wedding with you. It’s not a case of coming in, flinging on a couple of dresses and expecting you to make a decision! We give honest advice on what will work on your body shape and the practicalities of your wedding day. We have had brides marry their partner on the top of a mountain in the Far East; not the sort of venue that you could wear a dress like Gardenia!
Many brides think they want a certain style of dress and then when they actually try it on, it just doesn’t do anything for them either physically of mentally. That’s the beauty of what we do, we can take elements of the initial design that you do love and combine them with anything else to make it work for you.
Each dress is designed with a woman’s figure in mind. While they may be the norm on the catwalks and in modelling agencies, women are rarely 5’10 with a 24 inch waist. Every dress we design comes with a 24 boned corset built in as standard.
A neckline such as Mindy elongates your torso and works on a bust. It’s quite a low neckline so if you are concerned about that, we could raise this up to something more like Layla. The sleeves on Darla are cut to the elbow but again, this doesn’t work on every bride. Therefore we make them 3/4 length, of full length like on Beatrice.
Just because a dress is made in a certain colour doesn’t mean it has to stay that way. Poppy is shown in blush with a light champagne overlay and looks so cute in that combination. But if that doesn’t work on your skin tone, we could make her in vanilla, ivory, apricot or even blue. Blue is a surprisingly popular bridal colour and works in so many styles.
We love what we do and we do it because its our passion. We have dressed thousands of brides over the years either from seeing them in person in our studio, via a video call or on our trips to the USA. Thats not counting the brides who chose a dress in one of our stockists worldwide.
When you come and see us, all you have to do is take your shoes off, chill out and together, we will create your dream wedding dress.
